Irwin's Gig on Main Moved to a Tuesday in October. The Volunteers Behind Main Street's Fall Calendar Are Still Editing It.

October 8, 2026

Tuesday, October 13, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Irwin Park. That is where Irwin's biggest free concert now sits on the Downtown Irwin events page, with a rain date of Wednesday, October 14. Gig on Main 2026 started out as a Saturday, September 12 street festival from 5 to 11 p.m. on Main Street itself, with food trucks, live music and a free shuttle. Kenny Ross Auto signed on as presenting sponsor for it.

Third-party listings never caught up. Bandsintown still shows the Irwin concert on September 12. The organizers' own page carries both versions. The new date and park location appear alongside older copy about a stage on Main Street and about organizers still working to book The Clarks as headliner. The Clarks were the billed headliner, but the older wording means the lineup is worth confirming with the organizers before anyone plans a Tuesday night around it.

The move points to something about Irwin's fall that a static list of events hides. The calendar is written by a volunteer group, and volunteers revise.

Who Moves the Date

The Irwin Business & Professional Association, known as the IBPA, produces the Main Street events. It is all-volunteer and takes no government money. Sponsorships, business participation fees and vendor fees pay for every event, and the group runs more than 15 free events a year. Its meetings are Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Colonial Grille taproom on Main Street, and newcomers are asked to RSVP first because meetings sometimes move to Zoom.

The move changed more than the listing; it changed the event's footprint.

The 2024 edition The 2024 edition closed Main Street, filled it with 15 food trucks, and ran shuttle buses from Calvary Church. Justin Sellers opened, The Mazeroskis followed, and The Clarks closed the night, according to the Tribune-Review's preview. The 2026 concert sits in Irwin Park on a weeknight, so it will not look like that street closure.

The Fall Calendar as the Organizers List It

Every entry below comes from the Downtown Irwin events page as it read at the end of September 2026.

Date Event Where and when
Saturday, Oct. 10 Pet costume event Main Street, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 13 Gig on Main, rescheduled from Sept. 12 Irwin Park, 5 to 10 p.m. (rain date Oct. 14)
Saturday, Oct. 24 Kids' costume trick-or-treating and parade Main Street, 1 to 3 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 5 Ladies Nite (theme still to be announced) Main Street, 4 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 14 Depot Alley Holiday Street Market Depot Alley, 6th to 4th Street, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 19 Light Up Norwin Main Street, 5 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 4 Free cookies at downtown businesses, horse-drawn carriage Main Street, 5 to 8 p.m.

The monthly shop crawl also falls around these dates. Stores stay open later on the second Thursday of each month, usually from 4 to 8 p.m., so October 8, November 12 and December 10 are late-shopping nights.

A Saturday Split Across Two Calendars

October 10 shows how the calendar layers. The pet event uses Main Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dogs and other pets wear costumes, walk the street, collect treats, and compete for costume prizes.

The Lamp Theatre at 222 Main Street has its own schedule that same night. The 350-seat venue lists an 8 p.m. show that evening at $36. Its October slate, as posted on the theater's site, also includes Badfish, a Sublime tribute, on October 3 at $32. Private Eyes, a Hall & Oates tribute, plays October 17 at $37. The Artimus Pyle Band plays Sunday, October 18 at 7 p.m. for $45. Split Stage Productions stages Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Show on October 30 and 31 at 9 p.m. and midnight, with $25 tickets. The IBPA and the Lamp are separate calendars that happen to share a street, and the Lamp's listed prices and times come from the theater's own site.

October 24 works the same way. The IBPA page puts kids' costume trick-or-treating on Main Street from 1 to 3 p.m., with a parade down Main at 3 p.m. Another listing, on an events aggregator, shows a Halloween Trick or Treat Trail presented by JP Construction Group starting at 3 p.m. at Indian Lake Park. That listing files the event under Irwin. Two Saturday-afternoon options are on offer, and each organizer's own page has the final times.

Depot Alley Gets a Market

The one genuinely new entry is the Depot Alley Holiday Street Market on Saturday, November 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The IBPA billed it as new for 2026. The plan is to turn the back alley running from 6th Street to 4th Street into a Christmas village. It will have local vendors and crafts, festive food and drinks, and holiday music.

The IBPA lists it as a holiday craft and vendor show, and vendor fees are one of the ways the group pays for its events. The date also matters for how the month stacks up. Ladies Nite comes November 5, the shop crawl November 12, the alley market November 14, and Light Up Norwin November 19. That is four downtown nights or days in a two-week stretch, with the December 4 cookie evening following two weeks after.

Light Up Norwin, Still on the Third Thursday

Light Up Norwin lands November 19, the third Thursday of the month, which matches how the event has been scheduled in earlier listings. The 2026 listing promises a parade, a tree lighting, entertainment and food. The Norwin Rotary's community Christmas tree lighting comes before the parade.

The 2025 parade offers a preview of the order of events. According to the Tribune-Review, it opened with the East End Kids, followed by Main Street Music students and the C.P. Music ensemble. Norwin High School's calendar listed the 2025 parade at 6:30 p.m. Start times vary by source. The IBPA page lists 5 p.m. for 2026, while another aggregator lists 4 p.m., so the organizers' 5 p.m. is the number to use.

Where the Current Version Lives

Some sources update first and some lag, and this fall the gap has shown up in the Gig on Main listing.

  • The Downtown Irwin events page at discoverirwin.com/events is run by the IBPA and carries the reschedule, the new alley market and the Light Up Norwin date.
  • The Lamp Theatre's site at lamptheatre.org lists show dates, times and ticket prices for the venue.
  • The Borough of Irwin's calendar at irwinborough.org/events lists borough-level events and recurring items.
  • Aggregators such as Bandsintown and allevents.in still carry older or duplicate entries, like the September 12 concert date.

For Gig on Main in particular, the Downtown Irwin events page shows the Irwin Park date, and the Thursday-morning volunteers have the final say on the lineup.

If a fall on Main Street has you curious what your own Irwin home would bring, Adam Slivka can get you an instant home valuation.
