The Westmoreland Museum of Art has been remodeled and is making a huge impact on the city. As of this year admission is free and the museum is welcoming to people of all ages.
The Bridging the Gap on North Main Street bridge is the museums doing. The Museum allows writers from western pa to create poems and such that have to specifically fit the length of the bridge. The bridge having that text, which runs east and west, gives such a hometown feel to that entrance to the city.
The exterior of the museum itself entices you to want to see more. The mirror tiles on the front, the garden landscaping and exquisite architecture of the building itself are something to be seen.
There are various events at the museum and one is bound to spark your interest. It reminds me of the kind of place that never has a dull moment. They really put a lot of effort into bringing the community together. You’ll find everything from children’s art classes and yoga to pop up studios and art on tap. That right art on tap! All Saints Brewing Company and the Westmoreland Museum of Art have teamed up. What a place right?
Make sure you check it out! They are open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am-5pm and on
Wednesdays from 11am-7pm. First Commonwealth Bank sponsors the Wednesday evening hours from 5-7pm. They will be closed Mondays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day.
